As the 84th birthday of The Dalai Lama approaches, a patrolling has been launched in the prefecture’s Serta County, Sichuan Province since the end of April and now also being enforced in other areas as well of the traditional Tibetan province of Kham to monitor the display the The Dalai Lama picture. The police is patrolling schools and warning the students and teachers in addition to traveling even to hard-to-reach nomadic areas to enforce the ban. The Dalai Lama , who turns 84 on July 6, 2019,fled Tibet into exile in India in the midst of a failed 1959 national uprising against Chinese rule.
