New Delhi : Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the meeting with the members of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) at Dubai in UAE today invited the Indian Diaspora to come forward and be a part of Himachal Pradesh’s growth story by investing in the state. He said that he had a very fruitful interaction with the members of ICAI, Dubai which is the largest chapter of ICAI globally.
Jai Ram Thakur said that to position Himachal as the most preferred destination across the world’ the first Global Investors Meet is being organized at Dharamshala in November this year. He requested the members of the prestigious chapter to impress upon their respective clients to consider for investment in Himachal Pradesh.
He said that the Himachal Pradesh was known as the ‘fruit bowl’ of India and was the major producer of fruits like apple, plums, apricots, kiwis, walnuts and pears which offer abundant opportunity for food processing and allied industries. He said that the state offers attractive incentives under the industrial policy to boost investment and the Government was amending the policy to make it more attractive and industry friendly.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the state had immense potential for investment in sectors such as tourism, power, wellness centres, infrastructure development, pharma, fruit processing etc. He said that the State was also coming up with investor friendly policies in sectors such as tourism, AYUSH, IT and electronics and hydro energy. Industries Minister Bikram Singh urged people of Indian origin in abroad to contribute towards sustainable development of their respective states. He shared that both polity and bureaucracy of Himachal Pradesh is very accessible and receptive.
Consulate General of India in Dubai Vipul addressed members of ICAI and delegation of Himachal Pradesh and briefed about the achievements of delegation in terms of investment attraction. Additional Chief Secretaries Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Ram Subhag Singh and Manoj Kumar, Director Industries Hans Raj Sharma, Special Secretary Abid Hussain Sadiq, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Singh were present on the occasion among others.
