Jai Ram said, winter sojourn of Kangra district not just a custom for political gains

Dehra: CM Jai Ram Thakur said that during his two days tour of Jawalamukhi and Dehra assembly constituencies of Kangra district he has performed foundation stones and dedications of developmental projects worth about Rs. 182 crore, out of which foundation stones and inauguration of projects worth over Rs. 50 crores were performed today in Dehra segment. Jai Ram Thakur said that during the first phase of his winter sojourn he had laid foundation stones and inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs. 165 crore in three Vidhan Sabha areas viz. Baijnath, Kangra and Indora. He said that thus foundation stones and inaugurations of about Rs. 350 crore have been done by him in five assembly constituencies of Kangra district. CM was addressing a public meeting at Dhaliara in Dehra area of Kangra district today.
Jai Ram said that the present state government was ensuring that the winter sojourn of Kangra district was not just a custom for political gains, but the Government was actually concerned about the development of the biggest district of the state. He said that laying foundation stones and dedicating developmental projects worth about Rs 350 crore in five days in five different assembly constituencies of the district speaks of the priority the state government was giving for development of the district. He said that this was the befitting reply to those who were questioning the intentions of the state government. He said that Public Works and Irrigation projects worth crores of rupees were under implementation in Dehra Vidhan Sabha area.
CM said that work on construction of Central University would be started at the earliest and he would again take up the matter in this regard with the Union Government. He said that Rs 6 crore has been sanctioned for development of Industrial area Chinour which would benefit nine panchayats of the area. He said that all possible help would be provided to make Degree College Dhalariya a Model college to facilitate the students. He announced that post of doctors in Civil Hospital Dhalariya would be increased from 9 to 14 and digital X-Ray would be provided in the hospital. He announced Rs 1.50 crore for construction of combined office building at Haripur and Rs. one crore for Nagar Parishad Building, Dehra.
Earlier, the C Minister laid foundation stones of improvement and augmentation of distribution system of LWSS Dhaliara Surajpur in Dehra tehsil to be made by spending Rs.2.71 crore, LWSS for different villages under Gram Panchayats Chudrehar, Sunhet and Naleti in Dehra tehsil under Jal Jeevan Mission to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.82 crore, bridge over Narad khad on Bassi Sunhet road to be built with an amount of Rs.3.11 crore, LWSS to villages Guler, Pir Bindli etc. in Haripur Sub Tehsil under Jal Jeevan Mission to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 crore and Canteen block of Government Degree College, Haripur-Guler to be built with an amount of Rs. 42 lakh. Earlier, in the morning Chief Minister visited the famous Jawala Ji Temple at Jawalamukhi and performed puja.
Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur said that the Union Government has provided Rs 19,309 crore for the State through the 15th Finance Commission. He said that this would not only accelerate the pace of development, but also ensure that developmental projects do not hang in fire due to want of funds. He said that the Central University would soon come up at Dehra which would facilitate the students of the area. He said that he would provide all possible help for construction of hostel in Government College Dhaliyara. He said that the ‘Global Investors Meet’ organized by the State Government was a commendable initiative taken by the State Government. He said that rates of corporate tax announced by the Union Government were most attractive in the world, which has attracted global investors to invest in the country. He said that due to the concerted efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become the fifth biggest economy of the world.
