Mcleodganj: Tibet Corps volunteers led by Program officer of Tibet Corps Jigme Yangchen received a blissful audience with the Tibetan Spiritual Leader The Dalai Lama at his residence this morning. The group was highly anticipating the arrival of The Dalai Lama when His Holiness appeared in a pleasant smile. The Dalai Lama acknowledged and commended the volunteers for their dedication to serve the community and meanwhile emphasized the importance of Tibetan culture, language, and tradition and thus counseled them to preserve the distinct Tibetan cultural heritage and language.
“I feel very blessed and fortunate that I got a chance to meet The Dalai Lama so close to the first time in my life. It was really a mixed feeling I would like to thank Tibet Corps for this opportunity and will be indebted towards the organization, “said Kunsang Yelphel, an intern at DIIR, CTA. Tibet Corps aims to offer Tibet University students, professionals, and retirees to a destination and platform to serve the Tibetan community through voluntary service. The program seeks to inspire Tibetans to strengthen the community, its institution and the Central Tibetan Administration.
