Barcelona: A two-day general meeting of Europe Tibetan Associations is currently underway at Case del Tibet, Barcelona, Spain.
The meeting is first of its kind convened by Tibet Bureau in Geneva and Europe members of Tibetan Parliament in Exile in close coordination with Offices of Tibet in London, Brussels and Paris’ coordinator.
Twenty representatives comprising of presidents, vice presidents and executive members from 12 Tibetan associations and communities based in Switzerland & Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, UK, Poland, Norway and Sweden are participating in the annual meeting.
The agenda of two-day meeting include: Promotion and preservation of Tibetan language; Tibet awareness and political activities in Europe; Strengthening existing Tibetan Community; Key themes of the upcoming third Special General Meeting to be held in Dharamshala which are a) Five Fifty Vision, and b) lineage of His Holiness the Dalai Lamas and Tibetan people.
The meeting breaks into various sessions with dedicated agenda will be chaired by MP Thupten Wangchen and MP Jampa Tsering Samdo, Europe members of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Representative Chhimey Rigzen, Tibet Bureau, Geneva and Representative Sonam Frasi, Office of Tibet, London.
The rapporteurs of the two-day meeting are Thutop Namgyal, Representative assistant & Secretary, Office of Tibet in Brussels, Namgyal Samdup, Secretary, Bureau du Tibet, Paris, and Sonam Therchin, Under Secretary of the Tibet Bureau, Geneva. Tashi Namgyal, photographer of Tibetan Community in Switzerland & Liechtenstein, assists in live streaming of the meeting.
