Frontline Healthcare workers from Tibetan health care centers have started to get Covid-19 vaccination

Dharamshala: Various Frontline Healthcare workers from Tibetan health care centers across India have started to get the Covid-19 vaccination.Nine Tibetan Frontline Healthcare workers of Delek Hospital and one from the Department of Health, CTA became the first Tibetan batch to get the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine at Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala. Thereafter health care workers and front liners of Tibetan health care centers at Mundgod, Odisha, Bir, and Miao received the vaccination.
A total of 81 healthcare frontline workers of Mundgod DTR Hospital, Gaden Jangtse, and Loseling Hospital got their first shot on 20th January 2021 at Pala Primary Health Center. As per protocol, all were kept under close observation for 30 minutes after receiving their first shot. Mild side effects were reported from few recipients which were resolved within days. His second vaccination will be done after 28 days from the first shot.
The Health Department, CTA with Tibetan Settlement Officers are constantly putting in their efforts to make the vaccine available to more number of Tibetans.The Department of Health, CTA urges every Tibetan to continue masking, social distancing, hand hygiene to protect self and community.
