Virtual fair on Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories is in progress
New Delhi: Virtual fair on Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories is in progress and will be held upto 4th June, 2020.The exhibitors participating in the show are experiencing the altogether different atmosphere of virtual fair as they are sitting safe at their homes or factory premises and still able to interact with buyers from across the globe.
Covid 2019 pandemic has impacted the global supply chains as the people are not able to travel. Fair organisers had to cancel their shows and look for alternatives. A virtual fair provided by EPCH has given a new mode to the exporters and now their businesses hopefully will be back on track and artisans and craftpersons will also be benefitted by the same, said Rakesh Kumar, Director General EPCH. Kumar further said that EPCH have tried to match with the activities which were being organized during physical show such as ramp shows, webinars and craft demonstrations by artisans.
On second day of the show, Ramp shows by the models showcasing the fashion jewellery and accessories products, craft demonstration by national awardee artisans and a Panel Discussion on “Technology Today – Merging the world of craft, design and Science” in association with Buying Agents Association were the highlight of the show.The webinar on Technology Today – merging the world of craft, design and science was organized with experts in the field shared their experience on how technology is playing a role in designing of crafts.
Panelists included Ms. Anika Passi, Country Manager, The Warehouse Group, New Zealand, Christine Rai, Chairperson BAA, Rohini Suri, Member Governing Body of Buying Agents Association, Priya Sachdeva, Director, Ivaton Consultancy, Nupur Batra, Vice President, IFJAS, Anil Bose, Dy. HOD, Arch College of Design and Business, Anuva Baid, Owner M/s Anuva and Karan Ahuja. The webinar was also attended by Ravi K Passi Chairman, EPCH, Naved Ur Rehman, Vice Chairman, EPCH, Vineet Bhatia, President of the fair, Nupur Batra and Anshal Gola,
Vice Presidents of the fair. DG – EPCH bKumar, informed that this is first time a virtual fair is being organized and it will be getting better with every passing event as virtual is going to be a new normal for at least next 1 year
