Snow-fest will be organized in every village of Lahul-Spiti from next year
Keylong: Snow Festival will be organized in every village in the tribal district of Lahul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh from next year. Efforts are being made to bring the rich tribal culture on one platform through the festival. Technical Education Minister Dr. Ramlal Markandey said this. He was speaking as the chief guest at a cultural program in Jahlama today under the Snow-festival. The cultural program was inaugurated with a tableau visit by all women and youth groups. After observing the craft, the tableau led by Dr. Markandeya went up to the Jhalma school campus. On this occasion, Dr. Markandeya said that the opening of the Atal Tunnel has started the Snow Festival to commemorate the Lahaul Valley’s people getting rid of snow captivity. The festival is being celebrated with the aim of bringing the rich tribal culture on one platform and promoting the traditional sports here. He said that due to lack of facilities, tourists could not reach this time in winter. In the coming times, the structure will be developed so that tourism activities will be encouraged. In the future, new projects like zip linings, sheets, skating etc. will also be added with tourism. Till next winter, tap water will be provided in Lahul for 24 hours a day.
